NJRC 2007
It was NJRC yesterday.Woke up really really early as we have to set off early.Went there at 7,reached at 7.45,there was no traffic jam, thank goodness. There was just so much things to carry..The boards, the props, the bots, the laptops, the food..
Went in to set up the booth while the controllers went for their briefing...3 teachers in all to set up everything. The trainer came to brief them.Think that helped them and gave them some confidence in what they were doing.
After setting up everything and warning them abt IRs beaming,we left for the spectators stand.Saw 1 of the sch cher's hub's booth set up there selling bot parts.Wow..Definitely something for the sec kids when they are doing SRG etc..
The kids did pretty well I must say. There was fierce competition during the 2nd half of the competition as the other teams caught up when doing mission 2.
The line tracking was a killer,no wonder it constitutes so much points..Some of teams didn't even track the line,it was so obvious the light sensor did not sense the line.Mainly aligning with the playfield borders.
Some of the bots went off the playfield, maybe due to alignment probs/calibration etc and the whole RCX came off..Sad..Luckily this yr is unlike last yr where water is involved. So many RCXs were sacrificed..
Many teachers came to gave support to the kids doing the challenge. It was heartening to see this..Told the kids to do their very best,be it success or failure,at least you've done your best and there is nothing to regret. =)
The day ended at around 5.30pm.It was a whole day event which left all of us super shagged..Went back to sch to put the things down and off we went home.
It's exciting and fun..Though it's super tiring..Haha..
